It helped my lingering tachycardia and headache
My tachycardia eased up gradually over 9 months to where I could go for a walk again but I just had to go slower. At 10 months I got a Novavax vaccine and my tachycardia subsided more to where I could walk a bit quicker. At 12 months I got the 2nd Novavax and it helped more again. At 10 months, I asked the doctor about Metformin and she said “no, because she hadn’t heard of it for LC”. My heart would still go crazy if I did too much activity at this time. At about 14 months, I asked again and she asked me to send her any articles I could and she would read them. She called the next day and said it seemed like it made sense but she would only agree if my cbc and kidney labs that she wanted to order came back fine. They did, and she prescribed it but told me my stomach probably wouldn’t be able to handle the dosage recommended in the articles and she was right. I just stuck with 500mg 2x day for a month. Ironically, the day after I started metformin, I tested positive for Covid for the 2nd time. I stayed on the Metformin and it really helped the acute infection and still helped clear the tachycardia I had for the 14 months. I don’t get the tachycardia for no reason anymore but I do get tachycardia right away if I get an infection.. I had a boil for 3 months and every time it flared up the tachycardia would get pretty bad again and also 2 sinus infections this past fall sets off tachycardia until I get an antibiotic to clear the infection. So..I feel Metformin ER helped but other things find the Covid in my body and flare it up still. I will request Metformin if I get Covid again because I think it worked better than when I had taken Paxlovid for my first infection.
