Hard to tell if improving or not

Chronic Illnesses: Long COVID
Symptoms Treated: Body Pain - Moderate improvement Depression - Moderate improvement Low Appetite - Moderate improvement
Side Effects Experienced: Distaste For Food

Was prescribed to help with appetite, body pain, and depression. I've been on it now for a few months, and it's hard to tell if it's made a difference or not. I'm going to try increasing my dose, but I may discontinue it if no other changes occur.

Did not help post-COVID migraines

Chronic Illnesses: Long COVID
Symptoms Treated: Migraine - Moderate improvement

I was prescribed this for the severe chronic migraine disorder I have due to long COVID; it didn’t do anything. No side effects but didn’t help either. I tried increasing the dose to 20mg but then I had too much daytime fatigue.

Help with GI issues

Chronic Illnesses: Long COVID
Symptoms Treated: Diarrhea - Complete recovery
Side Effects Experienced: None

Originally prescribed for sleep due to Covid dysfunction. I am still taking this medication. It has not really helped with sleep but it miraculously helped with my GI issues and being able to eat. Amitriptyline’s off label is indeed GI system relief. I was 168lbs when prescribed October ‘23 today March ‘25 I’m 200 lbs and eating almost two full meals now. Prior to Covid I was 230lbs of muscle/dad bod. Initial covid infection was February 2020 (symptoms began March 4th, 2020) I was a fire hose out the back end prior to this medication. Once I began this med GI issues almost immediately firmed up. Now I can eat almost two full meals a day. Prior to Amitriptyline I was eating maybe two eggs and a slice of toast a day if I was lucky.
