Hunter-Hopkins Center is a free-standing south Charlotte, NC clinic that has continuously treated patients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and Fibromyalgia (FM) since 1995, founded by Dr. Charles Lapp (now Medical Director Emeritus, retired from patient care in 2024). Current clinical leadership includes Dr. Vincent F. Hillman as director. The center is one of two primary US clinics conducting Ampligen (rintatolimod) clinical trials for severe ME and Long COVID patients meeting CFS criteria. Onsite phlebotomy, cardiopulmonary and autonomic labs, research service, and infusion suite. Retrospective studies show 80% of patients experience significant improvement.
